Abandoned Beauty

When I was studying to be a metallurgical engineer, I was always fascinated by the patterns created under the microscope, and in the scanning electron micrograph. Years later, when a friend suggested that I look at decay, it set me thinking. When I was, one day, entranced by the dance of light between a leaf and a tree, I thought about putting this into action. The patterns of rust are my first move in this direction. It closes the loop between my days as a metallurgical/ corrosion engineer and this project.

I took this photograph in the afternoon, using mainly the afternoon light to create the patterns

Inside Door

I took this picture of the inside of the door. It was a cloudy day, and i had to hold the camera steady while I shot. I was half inside the car when I took the picture.

Life loves.

While taking this photograph on a cloudy day, I could not help but notice the contrast thet the leaves made against the rusting car.

The leaves, against the pattern of rust provided a fascinating contrast

Headlight

This car probably ran for thousands of lilometres before it was abandoned completely.

It now stands alone in the muck of the roadside

For this hot, I used flashlight to highight the patterns of the springs against the car interior
